Summer's here, and I am officially done with school! Yay! I survived middle school (imagine me happy dancing)! While I am super excited to be moving on to high school, the reality of a long summer looms before me. What to do? I am too old for camp, and too young for a summer job. So last week, I wrote a list of activities to tackle while I'm on my break. Now when I am bored, I will just pull an activity out of a jar, and no matter what, I will do what's written on the piece of paper, and write about it. It's just a few ideas (like 187...so far)!, Here's a random sample
Make an activity jar(Done!)- Swim with a dolphin or beluga whale (So doable ~ lol!)
- Go buy random sodas and have a taste testing party
- Go to Epcot
- Have a Harry Potter (or other movie series) marathon
- Go to the beach
- Have a shaving cream fight
- Invent something new with two random items
- Write a modern day Declaration of Independence (Yes, I just finished US History, school is still on the brain)!
- Write a coded note
- Write a rant
- Make hand pulled cotton candy
- Try to make an old fashioned recipe (hand churned butter, homemade ice cream, etc.)
- Write a long letter, rant, or story in the sand at the beach
- Rewrite a Greek Mythology
- Write a note then leave it on a park bench
- Create my own language (I'm such a geek!)
- Watch a foreign TV series (Totally in love with Korean Dramas)
- Have a movie or book sob-a-thon (Just a crying fest for when you need a good cry).
- Create a wacky invention
- Make up a random set of rules to follow for one day
- Pretend to have a career for the day
- Look through old school papers
- Upcycle a piece of clothing into something new
- Imagine where you will be in 10-100 years, and write it down
- Star in your own 5-10 minute Disney film
- Make sushi (candy or regular)
- Have a campfire party
- Apply makeup to someone while blindfolded
- Critique songs you like and don't like
- Be a spy for the day
- Make paper flowers ( yeah I know it's kind of a girly craft)
- Make a piñata
- Make invisible ink
- Paint a canvas with water guns or balloons filled with paint
- Make a candy village
- Make art using common household items (pencil shavings, a ruler, etc.)
- Make a surprise ball
- Build a fort
- Watch a movie outside at night
Maybe you would like to do some of these ideas with me? Have your own summer revolution, and tell me about it!
Happy summer,
Lizzie
